Excuse me, what TIME is it?

The first managment issue that I have that comes to mind is....how I manage my TIME. Unfortunately, I'm at an age where I should be able to manage my time wisely, but still tend to not do so. Being a full time college student, working part time (along with the responsibilities I have at home is considered another part time job), and trying to have a social life----how can I be able to complete all these things and yet keep a peaceful state of mind? I feel like I'm forever in a race, trying to complete all my tasks in time. I've tried the whole "planner" thing (I even own a blackberry!) and at times I still feel out of sort. I feel that there is not enough time in the day to accomplish all the things I need to do, without having to stay up till the wee hours of the morning or stressing myself out because theres not enough time! Hopefully, throughout the semester I will be able to help resolve this issue through the lessons we learn in our management class. :fingers crossed:

  1. Hi Maggie..
I understand your problem because 'TIME" management is the common problem for most of the students. At the beginning of this semester,I thought I would make everything managed properly and organised on everything I do but as the week passed, school homework and my two part time jobs gave me really hard time.Another problem is a habit of procastination which makes delay in most of my school paper works.Since i always have hard time managing my time because I always wonder how others manage their time so i like to ask others about their schedule and things.I hope we can learn something that we could apply to manage our time from this course.Good Luck

  2. hey maggie...just wanted to say I'm right there with you on this one. I also wrote about my time management problem and how it's tough to get stuff done in a stress-free manner. You never mentioned procrastination so I hope you don't have that problem too because it makes time management that much harder. With my 5 classes on mondays and wednesdays I find myself doing all my hw the day before it's due. Anyways good luck and hopefully we both learn better time management from this class.

  3. The thing is that sometimes even though you might think that you are not a good time manager, you are. Its the amount of things that your are trying to accomplish is way to many for you to handle and simply not enough time to do them - therefore even blackberry wont help :). I suggest start checking things that are DONE off your list, and hopefully since of accomplishment will motivate you to do other things as you planned without procrastination.
PS: I think another part time job won’t help your situation.

  4. I feel the same way Maggie, there is not enough time in the day to satisfied all the things that are coming our way. I guess we are trying to do too many things at once and that's when the stress kicks in. I suggest you don't get into many new projects that could help you finish the things you've already started.
